A fintech explainer made from one prompt: how a UPI payment moves

An 80-second explainer made from one prompt with no link, for a hypothetical brief. Voom followed one payment from the Pay button through your bank, NPCI and the other bank, in a cut-paper style for people new to paying by phone.

Made with Voom from this prompt alone, a hypothetical brief with no link.

Transcript

You tap Pay on your phone, and your money just… leaves. Where does it go? Your app is only the front door. It doesn't move the money itself. It writes a request, who, and how much, then sends it to your bank. Before money moves, you enter the PIN only you know. That's what authorizes it. Your bank reads the request, then passes it up to NPCI. Nothing moves yet. NPCI is the switch in the middle. It's the one that knows which bank to ask. So NPCI hands it to the other bank, the one your friend uses. Then your bank debits, and their bank credits. Both sides confirm, so one payment is checked from both ends. It all takes about two seconds. That's UPI. Your app shows one clear Done, and a receipt to keep. The confirmation comes back the same way, into your app. Now you know who's talking.

Prompt

Explain how a UPI payment moves money from one bank account to another in about two seconds, for people in India who are new to paying by phone. Walk through who talks to whom: your app, your bank, NPCI, the other bank, and the PIN that only you know.
