Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Voom (“Voom”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website or use the Voom app, why we collect it, who processes it for us, how long we keep it and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses Voom, wherever they live.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, your email address and your password, which we store only as a salted hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile your Google account shares: your name, email address and profile picture.
- Sign-in and security data: the sessions that keep you signed in, with the IP address and browser each one was started from, and whether your email address is confirmed.
- What you give us to make a video: prompts, product links, images, logos, fonts and other files you upload, your brand kits, and the settings you choose.
- What we make for you: briefs, scripts, voice-overs, music, captions, the finished videos and their posters, and the progress and cost records of each video.
- Plan and credit records: your plan, your credit balance, every credit added or used, and whether you asked to be told when a paid plan opens.
- Basic logs: technical records of requests to our servers, which we use to keep the service working and secure.
We do not collect payment card details today: paid checkout is not open yet. When it opens, card payments will be handled by a payment provider, and this policy will name that provider before anyone is asked to pay.
What happens when you paste a product link
Voom opens the public page at that address the way a browser does and copies what it needs to design your video: the page’s text, colours, fonts, screenshots and logo. It only reads pages that load without a login. Use links to pages whose material you have the right to use, as our terms of service explain.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- To provide Voom, because we need to in order to perform our agreement with you: to run your account, make, store and deliver your videos, keep track of your plan and credits, send the emails your account needs (confirming your address, resetting your password) and show a video to anyone with its share link once you turn that link on.
- To keep Voom safe and working, based on our legitimate interests: to prevent abuse and fraud, protect accounts, find and fix failures, and learn which features are used so we can improve them.
- To meet legal obligations: to keep the records the law requires and to answer lawful requests.
- With your consent, where the law requires it, for example to tell you when a paid plan opens after you ask us to. You can withdraw consent at any time.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your prompts, files or videos to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
We use service providers to run Voom. They process personal data only to provide their service to us:
- AI model providers, reached through an AI routing service, which read your brief and materials and write, voice, score and check your video. They receive your prompt, the material from your product link, your uploaded images and the script, never your password. Their own terms may allow them to keep data for a limited time for security and abuse monitoring.
- Hosting and storage providers, which run our servers and database and store your files.
- An email delivery provider, which sends the emails your account needs.
- Google, when you choose to sign in with your Google account.
We may also disclose personal data when the law requires it, to protect the safety of people or the security of the service, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy keeps applying to your data.
Where your data is processed
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where the law sets conditions for such transfers, we follow them.
How long we keep it
- Account details and brand kits: while your account is open.
- Videos, posters and uploaded files: until you delete them or your account is closed. Deleting a video removes its MP4, its poster and its preview for good.
- Working files: the files Voom makes while it builds a video are removed when the video finishes. If a video fails, they may be kept for a limited time so we can find the cause.
- Plan and credit records: for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records, which can be after an account is closed.
- Logs: for a limited time, then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can download your videos, delete videos, uploaded files and brand kits, and turn share links off in the app at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- have data corrected when it is wrong;
- have your data deleted and your account closed;
- object to some uses of your data, or ask us to restrict them;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw a consent you have given;
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the supervisory authority where you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, or the Data Protection Board of India.
If you live in California, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and to not be treated differently for using your rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We answer requests within the time the law allows, and we may need to confirm your identity first.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords only as salted hashes, limit who can reach production data and keep share links secret. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and share video links only with people you trust.
Children
Voom is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If we learn that a child has given us personal data, we delete it.
Cookies and this website
This marketing site is made of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. When a visit starts, the site and the app tell Voom which page it started on and which site or tagged link brought you there (for example a search engine, an AI assistant or a newsletter). Your address and browser are turned into a code that changes every day and cannot be turned back, so we can count visitors without knowing who they are. Your browser keeps that first visit in its local storage for 30 days, so that if you sign up we know which page or site brought you. The Voom app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in, and it keeps your language, an unsent prompt, the state of its sidebar and that first visit in your browser’s local storage, on your device.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Voom changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect.
Contact
We are setting up a dedicated address for privacy questions and requests and will publish it on this page. Until then, you can download and delete your own videos, files and brand kits in the app at any time.
